The Marine Parents United Mission MPU shall host an annual conference to offer guidance to USMC families and friends through all of their military experiences and beyond. The MPU conference will provide educational and social opportunities to encourage attendees to both understand and support their Marine and the commitment he/she has made to the USMC.

I loved going to 8th and I. I can't wait to go again. The whole weekend was more than I could have hoped for. Several positive responses were given to me to extend to the board a big "Thank you for all the work that went into the conference" I did tell them and now its in written form too! Looking forward to working on next years conference as soon as this years bill is paid. So I'm hoping that Savannah will be in 209 and not 2010..

Wow it seems life forever ago that we were in Washington. My first MPU conference, I had no idea how it would change my life. I met many wonderful people. People whose names I may not remember but whose faces I will never forget. Finally I wasn't alone anymore, I was in the company of wonderful people who finally made me feel at home as a new Marine Mom. They understood all the things I couldn't put into words. I learned so much from each and everyone of them. We laughed, oh how we laughed! We cried, I cried alot, not because I was sad but because I finally felt normal again. The speakers, the board members, the guests, and oh those handsome Marines Each have given me strength to put one foot in front of the other. I met gold star parents, blue star parents and some like me who didn't even know which catagory they fell into, all with whom I felt a bond that cannot be expressed by mere words. I met a drill instuctor who made me understand why they do what they do, Mike Nicholes is an awesome guy and because oh him I can give new parents of Marines a level of comfort I didn't have. The board members are a group of dedicated, hard working, loving and committed group of individuals that are a pleasure to be around. They are a people of integrity and honor. What a blessing it was for me when they allowed me to join them. OOHRAH...
